🍫 Izmir Bomba (Turkish Chocolate Bomb Pastry)

Ingredients:

For the Dough:

  • 2 cups (250g) all-purpose flour
  • 1/3 cup (80ml) vegetable oil
  • ½ cup (120ml) warm water
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • Pinch of salt

For the Filling:

  • 150–200g chocolate spread (Nutella or similar) – chilled

Instructions:

  1. Make the Dough:
    • In a bowl, mix flour, oil, warm water, vanilla, and salt until you get a soft dough. Let it rest for 15 minutes.
  2. Roll & Fill:
    • Roll the dough very thinly on a floured surface.
    • Cut circles (approx. 8–10 cm), place a spoonful of cold chocolate in the center.
    • Fold and seal the edges carefully.
  3. Bake:
    • Place on a tray with parchment paper.
    • Bake at 180°C (350°F) for 6–8 minutes. Don’t overbake – they should stay pale.
  4. Cool Slightly & Serve:
    • Best served warm for the chocolate to ooze!
