Ingredients:
- 1 cup (240ml) strong brewed coffee (cooled)
- 2 tablespoons coffee liqueur (optional)
- 2 eggs, separated
- ½ cup (100g) granulated sugar
- 1 cup (250g) mascarpone cheese
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 20-24 ladyfingers (savoiardi biscuits)
- 2 tablespoons unsweetened cocoa powder
- Dark chocolate shavings (optional, for garnish)
Instructions:
- Prepare the Coffee Mixture:
- Mix the cooled coffee with coffee liqueur (if using) and set aside.
- Make the Mascarpone Cream:
- In a bowl, whisk egg yolks and sugar until light and creamy.
- Add mascarpone and vanilla extract, and mix until smooth.
- Whip the Egg Whites:
- In another bowl, beat egg whites until stiff peaks form.
- Gently fold them into the mascarpone mixture for an airy texture.
- Assemble the Tiramisu:
- Quickly dip each ladyfinger into the coffee (don’t soak too long, or they’ll get mushy).
- Layer half of them in a dish, then spread half of the mascarpone cream on top.
